First, I suggest you review our online article explaining all you need to know on MOLD CONTROL. Having somewhat of an understanding about why it’s bad to have high moisture in the home and what you can do to curb the source of the mold is paramount to controlling the problem.
Second, decide if you want to treat the problem yourself or hire a professional. We sell what professionals use and with our technical support, I’m sure you can achieve satisfactory results.
Third, to tackle most problems in crawl spaces, you need to first kill what’s active. This can be done using the MOLD BLASTER. Spraying it using a standard PUMP SPRAYER is generally how people apply it but fogging with something as small as our MINI FOGGER is much easier and in many cases will do a more thorough job.
Fourth, once the mold and fungi has been killed, you should consider protecting the wood with something like the BORACARE or TIMBOR so it mold and fungus won’t be able to grow again.
Lastly, you really need to stop the moisture supply from getting into this space. Is it coming from the soil of the crawl space up or do you live in a humid region and need to give the air in your crawl space a chance to ventilate? In some cases it a MOISTURE BARRIER may be needed or even some TEMP VENTS. Give us a call if you need some help on this or anything else as I did cover a lot in this message. The good news is you can kill and control mold with the right products and in most cases prevent new growth by doing some mechanical changes to the structure.
