I’ve been fighting a bad springtail infestation and would like to know if there is any chance I can eliminate them once and for all?
Springtails are a major pest because they typically breed outside in the soil and migrate at one time in mass numbers. When their nest site is close to the house, their migration will cause many of them to get inside the house. If left untreated, homes can become infested and if conditions are right, they could start to breed there as well.
To control the invasion, treat with the products described in our SPRINGTAIL CONTROL article. This should help keep there invasion minimized. But for real long term control, it would be best if you treated the grass and yard areas extensively with the BIFEN GRANULES. This will sink into the soil over time and get them where it matters the most. By controlling their breeding ground you will be reducing their numbers enough so that when they migrate, a lot less will be available to get inside. Ultimately this will prove to be your best defense.
